Ingredients:
- ½ cup olive oil
- 1 jumbo onion-diced
- 1 pound package of bacon cooked & diced, save the bacon fat drippings
- 18 oz. can of Hunts tomato sauce
- 18 oz. can of Hunts diced tomatoes
- 6oz. can of Hunts tomato paste
- 1 cup water
- ¼ cup of sugar-if you like a sweeter sauce, you can add more sugar afterwards
- 1 pint heavy cream
- ¾ cup Vodka
- Salt, pepper, garlic powder (to taste), you can always add more
- 5-8 bay leaves, whole
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 heaping tablespoons of basil
- 2 tablespoons dry oregano
Directions:
In a large sauce pot, sauté the diced onion in the olive oil until lightly golden. On a low flame, add the sauce, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, diced bacon, bacon drippings, parmesan cheese, sugar, basil & bay leaves. Stir continuously while adding salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano & Vodka. When the sauce starts to boil, add the heavy cream.
