Who is a Solo Ager? Noun: A senior who does not have a partner, children or kin who can support their care as they age
At The Kensington, we understand firsthand the decisions that need to be made as an aging adult, and that this journey is one you should not undertake alone.
Don’t miss this in-person educational presentation on Caring for Solo Agers with experts Patty Bave, Esq., Eldercare Attorney; Anne Bergman, RN, Geriatric Care Manager; and Jo-Ann Reilly, CRS, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker.
This panel discussion will focus on the solo senior who does not have a partner, children or kin who can support their care as they age – or the caregiver who is caring for a spouse but has no relatives. It will include the legal ramifications such as Power of Attorney, the clinical aspects as to how will care be provided if needed, and logistics of how to decide where to live.
What We Will cover:
-What If You Do Not Have Someone You Trust Enough to be Part of Your Plan (i.e. to appoint as agent under power of attorney)
-Your Legal Options
-How to Decide Where to Live
-Getting Started on Moving and Downsizing
