5:30-7:30pm: Workshop Presentation

Nearly half of adults who either have dementia or are partnered with a person with dementia are sexually active.  Yet sexuality in older adults is a rarely discussed topic.  This workshop will explore societal taboos of this topic, the ethical and legal issues that might arise, and how families and professional caregivers need to re-frame their beliefs and not view expression of sexuality as a “behavior” that needs intervention.

Continuing Education Information: This workshop is pre-approved for 2.0 hours of continuing education for NY Social Workers through NYSED; CT Social Workers through ACE / ASWB; and NY and CT Case Managers through PACE / CCMC
