Event Details

This is the second installment of a three-part series. A special presentation for caregivers is brought to you in partnership with the Westchester Jewish Community Services and Alzheimer’s Association of the Hudson Valley.

This program is designed to provide caregivers with the knowledge, tools and strategies needed to cope with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Resources for you to take home will be included. These presentations will focus on:

Healthcare team, approaches to treatment, family and friends, work- related issues, community care team.

Presenters include:

Gillian Rittmaster, LCSW, is a Co- Coordinator of the Pathways to Care (PTC) program at Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS). She serves as the Bereavement Coordinator for WJCS, where she facilitates support groups as well as provides individual counseling. As a Care Consultant, Gillian works with family members caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. She is an active member of the Bereavement Professionals Group of Westchester and Fairfield Counties, as well as the Cancer Coalition of Westchester. Gillian has a Master of Social Work from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Jane Slevin, LMFT, is a Co- Coordinator of the Pathways to Care (PTC) program at Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS). She provides supportive services and counseling to individuals and families facing serious, chronic and life-limiting illnesses. Jane is a Care Consultant working with family members caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s and other dementia related-disease. She facilitates numerous support groups for family caregivers as well as those facing the loss of a loved one. She is an active member of the Caregiver Coalition, Bereavement Professionals Group of Westchester and Fairfield Counties as well as the Cancer Coalition. Jane is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has been working at WJCS since 2008.
