Please join The Kensington White Plains for this virtual, interactive presentation as we discuss all you need to know about BPSD: what they are, how they present, triggers, nonpharmacological and pharmacological management strategies, and more! Learn from real-life case studies and hear from our experts!

This workshop is for anyone caring for a loved one who has dementia with behaviors such as sundowning, aggression/agitation, depression, paranoid delusions or hallucinations.  It is also for healthcare professionals who wish to gain knowledge and garner best practices on this topic. Adult caregivers are welcome!

Hear From The Experts:

Karen Bell, MD, is a Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center, in the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer’s Disease and the Aging Brain and the GH Sergievsky Center. A Bronx native who graduated from New York University, and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, she completed internship in internal medicine at Harlem Hospital Center and neurology residency at The Neurological Institute at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. After completing a fellowship in Behavioral Neurology, she focused her clinical and research efforts to specialize on the evaluation and treatment of neurodegenerative cognitive disorders at the Taub Institute.

Dorothy (Dot) Tagarelli, LCSW: Dot is CEO and Founder of Dot Cares, LLC, Geriatric Care Management Consulting Firm.  She is a licensed clinical social worker in NY and CT.  Her experience as a psychotherapist, combined with her training as a dementia care practitioner and certification as a geriatric care manager, enables her to provide clients and care partners with a holistic framework in managing symptoms and challenges associated with progressive cognitive impairment. 

Donna Sangi-Vallario, MS: Donna is a Dementia Coach at Dot Cares, LLC.  Her passion is to effect change in the manner care is delivered. Donna has held positions as a Memory Care Director at an area assisted living plus Director of Adult Day Centers.  As a Dementia Coach, she shares her expertise in effective caregiving practices for people diagnosed with dementia and one that recognizes and gives considerable attention to the needs of the caregiver.
