Meet Our Experts

Jennie Valles, M.D. is an Attending Neurologist and the Medical Director of Informatics at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, where she began her career as a fellow in the Neurorehabilitation Fellowship Program in 2014. She completed her neurology residency at New York Medical College, where she also served as chief resident, and holds an Advanced Certificate in Clinical and Translational Investigation from Weill Cornell Medical College.

Liz Rider is an Occupational Therapist and Clinical Team Leader of the Spinal Cord Injury Program at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. She first encountered Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) while treating Disorders of Consciousness patients in Boston and quickly became an advocate for its effectiveness. After relocating to New York in 2016, she worked to bring NMT to Burke, helping develop a successful program across both inpatient and outpatient services. Liz is dedicated to creating opportunities for patients to benefit from innovative therapies like NMT.
