With the right care and support, those with Parkinson’s disease can truly THRIVE. The Kensington White Plains is proud to present THRIVE with Parkinson’s, a unique program for new and current residents with movement disorders with their family members. We invite you to please join us for an educational evening to learn about this amazing program and all the benefits it offers our residents!

Learn about our wide variety of program offerings, including wellness classes four times per week, Parkinson’s Dance, Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Expressive Arts, Support Group, specialty movement equipment. Then, participate in two wellness sessions so you can experience for yourself the difference our program makes! These sessions will be led by our experts Joanne Hubbard, Associate Executive Director at The Kensington and Meshel House, Physical Therapy Specialist with Theradynamics Rehabilitation.

A booklet of at-home exercises and a Kensington goodie bag will be given to all attendees. Light bites will be served. While you’re here, enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and beverages, expertly prepared by our one and only Executive Chef Norm. Stop by, share your story and lean on us for support!

Meshel House, Physical Therapist with Theradynamics, is a certified Parkinson’s Wellness and Recovery (PWR) therapist. She is currently the Director of Rehabilitation at The Kensington. She has been a licensed PT since 2007 and has worked with different physical therapy settings, and managed different conditions, from pediatrics to geriatrics with complex musculoskeletal, neurological conditions. This includes people with cerebral palsy, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), arthritis (OA, RA) spondylosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injuries (SCI), Bell’s palsy, Low Back Pain, fractures, amputation, and sprain/strains, etc. The common factor in all her treatment has always been skilled hands-on therapy with an individual approach.

Joanne Hubbard, our Associate Executive Director, has nearly 12 years of experience at Kensington Senior Living. She has held positions such as Memory Care Director, Assisted Living Director, and Executive Director. Her professional journey initially began as a board-certified music therapist, specializing in neurologic music therapy, before transitioning into healthcare administration. Driven by her passion for empowering individuals to live autonomously and happily, Joanne created our distinguished THRIVE Parkinson’s Program. The Kensington is also a Parkinson’s Community Partner site with the Parkinson’s Foundation, and Joanne serves as our certified Site Champion.
