At this Continuing Education event (part 2 of 3),learn how to understand the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, explore the different parts of the brain, and the effects of this disease on the brain.

All attendees at each program will receive a CE certificate, presentation worksheets, and a handout for best dementia care practices resources page (books, websites and videos).

Dinner will be served.


Speaker: Kerry C. Mills, MPA

Kerry earned recognition in the field of Alzheimer’s care as a Regional Manager for a pioneering Alzheimer’s healthcare organization, where she served for eight years. As founder and president of Engaging Alzheimer’s LLC, she has had many opportunities to share her expertise and vision here in the United States as well as in Canada, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and China. She co- authored I Care – A Handbook for Care Partners of People with Dementia and most recently has authored Serving Residents with Dementia: Transformative Care Strategies for Assisted Living Providers. Kerry is a regular guest on local radio stations and has completed an interview on PBS’

The News Hour with host Paul Solman as well as CBS television with Dr. Max Gomez. Kerry is a CEU Accredited Course/Dedicated Dementia Care Partner.

All three Programs have been approved for CE credits for: Social Workers: NY, CT
Case Managers, (CCM)

Fee: $20 per workshop or register for all three at the same time and pay $15/workshop (savings of $15). MUST Register ahead of time, online in order to reserve your spot. Register at: https://dementiaceus.eventbrite.com Payment at door ONLY.

Space is limited to 25 guests for each workshop. The fee for each workshop is a non-refundable administrative fee.


Full attendance is required: no partial credits will be offered for partial attendance.

New York Social Workers:

Recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work as an approved Provider of continuing education for licensed Social Workers #SW-0301. Social Workers participating in each workshop will receive 1.0 (clinical) continuing education clock hour for each.

CT Social Workers:

Approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program. Social Workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits. Social Workers participating in each workshop will receive 1.0 (clinical) continuing education clock hour, for each.

Case Managers:

Each workshop has been pre-approved by the Commission for Case Manager Certification to provide continuing education credit to Certified Care Managers (CCMs). CCMs participating in each workshop will receive 1.0 continuing education clock hour for each. Certificates of course completion will be individually distributed at the end of the workshop, and the submission of workshop evaluation form.
