Announcing our New RN Evening Supervisor, Efren Paras!
Efren Paras has been a nurse since 1996. Originally from the Philippines, Efren trained in nursing at the Quezon City Medical Center and College earning his BS in nursing. For the first three years of his career Efren worked in the Philippines as a Registered Nurse in both the hospital setting and traveling outside the city to assist patients in the rural environment. In 1999 Efren immigrated to the United States and was able to send his nursing credentials to Albany for approval to work in the United States. This is an exhausting process and took one year before the paperwork was finally approved.
Once approved Efren studied and took the nursing boards as an LPN . Efren passed and began his career in the United States as a Home Care Nurse then in Nursing Home communities finally coming to the Kensington in December of 2013. Efren has distinguished himself here at the Kensington and has been the stabilizing force of nursing on the Third floor in Assisted Living for almost five years. It is with great pleasure that we congratulate Efren on passing his Registered Nursing Boards in the United States and for the offer and acceptance of the position of RN Evening Supervisor at the Kensington. Efren will be here to guide and assist the nurses on the 3-11 evening shift, with all medical concerns . The Kensington White Plains created this new position to distinguish ourselves even further from other communities by offering an additional layer of medical oversight well into the evening. We have every confidence that this will enhance and support the medical care of our residents here at the Kensington White Plains.
