For the first time, the famous annual book festival hosted by the Library of Congress in Washington, DC is going virtual! Our Kensington residents will be tuning into the on-demand programs from the book fest, and are most excited about the hearing from bestselling writer David Kamp and his book, “Sunny Days: The Children’s Television Revolution That Changed America”. During this program, he will tell the behind-the-scenes story of the cultural heroes who created the beloved children’s TV programs “Sesame Street,” “The Electric Company,” “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,” “Free to Be…You and Me” and “Schoolhouse Rock!”.

Residents can then enjoy a short presentation about the life and work of Jim Henson followed by a discussion about their children’s favorite tv shows, its impacts, and memories that were made.
