At The Kensington White Plains, we enjoy partnering with non-profit organizations and charities to support our local and global communities. This time, with World Central Kitchen, we extend our support to Ukraine.
In the past, we have helped other organizations that are near to our hearts, such as the National Alzheimer’s Association, Parkinson’s Foundation, and Hilarity for Charity.
The Kensington White Plains hosted a fundraising event that will help nourish Ukrainian families during their ongoing crisis.
100% of donations will go to World Central Kitchen and help nourish families needing emergency food relief. Learn more about the founder, Chef Jose Andres, his global non-profit organization World Central Kitchen, and how your donations will make a difference in the lives of Ukrainians in need of a warm and healthy meal.
Who is World Central Kitchen and what is their mission?
World Central Kitchen was founded by Jose Andres in 2010 and has helped families worldwide ever since.
World Central Kitchen has served more than 60 million meals to those affected by natural disasters, man-made crises, and humanitarian emergencies.
Much like WCK, Kensington Senior Living is passionate about helping those in need, just as the core values of our communities is built on caring for others.
Food relief is “a plate of hope” to chef Jose Andres. We also agree that a satisfying meal does not only offer nutrition, but enjoyment, and peace of mind.
Chef Norm, at The Kensington White Plains, delivers some of the tastiest dishes, that meet the dietary needs of our residents. Similar to Jose Andres, he finds healthy and delicious meals to be of therapeutic value, as they bring families and communities together.
How Kensington Senior Living Communities and WCK are supporting Ukraine
World Central Kitchen showed up immediately after hearing about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Over six million nourishing meals were delivered to Ukraine in only five weeks.
The only way the WCK relief team, volunteers, and local partners can continue to deliver hope and nourishment to Ukraine is through our donations. This is why Kensington Senior Living Communities knew we needed to jump in and support this cause.
Our Kensington community came together and our fundraiser exceeded the goal of $15,000!
