Kensington’s THRIVE with Parkinson’s Program

Kensington’s TRHIVE with Parkinson’s Program is for people with movement disorders and their care partners. We are proud to present weekly on-site and virtual programs and classes for people who are impacted by movement disorders.

Residents and their families are welcome to participate in these workshops. This Program provides interactive presentations and classes emphasizing the importance of exercise, speech therapy, nutrition, and journaling for individuals with Parkinson’s. Our all-inclusive lifestyle support is infused with positivity and warmth, helps residents get stronger, heal faster, and make steady progress without overwhelming them throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Specialized Parkinson’s Program

With the right care and support, those with Parkinson’s disease can truly THRIVE.

SPEAK OUT!® and LOUD Crowd®

90% of people with Parkinson’s Disease are at risk of developing a weak voice that can lead to speech and swallowing difficulties. Therapists certified in both programs can help patients with Parkinson’s maintain their ability to communicate.

SPEAK OUT!

  • Consists of 8 to 12 therapy sessions with home practice. The patient and speech language pathologist complete speech, voice, and cognitive exercises
  • 6-week follow up session with speech language pathologist to review exercises and establish a daily home-practice routine

LOUD Crowd!

  • Weekly group sessions where SPEAK OUT! exercises are performed and participants practice speaking with intent.

Whether rehab is necessary after a fall, an injury, surgery, or illness, we give our residents more time and freedom to focus on healing for as short or long a stay as needed. We are up for the challenge of addressing simple or complex recoveries and are specially equipped to address the unique difficulties caused by memory loss.

Advanced Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Care

We can successfully address the needs of residents with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, no matter how great.

Compassionate Multiple Sclerosis Care

Our team is equipped to manage those with central nervous system disorders including Multiple Sclerosis.

In addition to our warm staff and experts in rehabilitation care, we also provide an everchanging calendar of social activities with our life enrichment team in our Connections and Haven memory care neighborhoods.
