Why pursue senior living careers?
The senior living industry is experiencing unprecedented growth as the U.S. population ages. In 2025, seniors are estimated to account for approximately 21% of the population.
This demographic shift significantly boosts the demand for quality senior care, including assisted living and specialized memory care communities.
Working in senior living isn’t just one kind of job—it’s a whole ecosystem of roles that keep a community running with heart.
Whether you’re into hands-on caregiving, organizing activities, cooking meals, or ensuring everything behind the scenes runs smoothly, there’s a place for you here—it takes a community!
The Kensington Difference
At The Kensington White Plains, you have the opportunity to truly connect and build relationships with the residents you’re caring for.
Compared to hospitals or large nursing homes, our team member to resident ratio allows for less stress and more time to foster real relationships.
Begin or continue your healthcare career with an organization that is dedicated to both residents and team members, provides manageable workflow, and a fulfilling career path.
Join Our Family at The Kensington White Plains
There’s more to senior living than caregiving.
Of course, Care Partners (CNA, HHA, PCA) are essential— they’re one part of a larger team that keeps everything running.
Behind every warm, welcoming senior living community is a team of cooks, nurses, maintenance pros, activity coordinators, concierges, and others who work together to create a place that feels like home.
Here’s a look at the roles we’re hiring for right now.
Porter
As a porter, you help keep our community clean, safe, and running smoothly.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining common areas, restocking supplies, managing trash removal, and assisting with light setups for events or activities.
It’s a great entry-level role for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and proud of a job well done. No certification required.
Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the upkeep of our building and systems—from HVAC and plumbing to lighting and safety checks.
You’ll coordinate repairs, manage vendors, perform routine inspections, and ensure everything stays functional and secure.
Prior experience in maintenance and team coordination is a must.
Memory Care Activities Assistant
In this role, you’ll lead group and one-on-one activities designed for residents with memory loss. Think music, games, art, movement, and quiet moments that make someone’s day.
It’s ideal for someone creative, empathetic, and comfortable adapting plans based on residents’ needs. Experience is helpful, but we provide training.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Our LPNs provide essential medical care, including medication administration, monitoring health conditions, assisting with treatments, and keeping detailed records.
You’ll work closely with other clinical team members and communicate regularly with residents and their families.
A valid New York State LPN license, strong interpersonal skills, and clinical knowledge are required.

Getting ready to apply for a senior living career
