The Kensington White Plains anniversary celebrates 15 years of exceptional care, meaningful relationships and an enduring commitment to residents and families. The community began with a group of career-long senior living professionals who dreamed of creating the kind of residence they would choose for their own parents.
In September 2011, that dream came to life at 100 Maple Avenue. Fifteen years later, The Kensington White Plains remains guided by the same Promise: to love and care for your family as we do our own.
Over the years, the community has grown in knowledge, capabilities and reach. Specialized programs have been introduced, professional and community relationships have deepened, and generations of residents, families and team members have become part of The Kensington family. Through every change, the commitment to exceptional care, meaningful connection and a true sense of home has remained constant.
15 Years of Our Promise

And so it beginsDan Gorham and Dave Faeder leave their leadership roles in a senior living organization to start a business geared toward acquiring and developing commercial real estate. The courtyard of their new Reston, VA office space is called Fountain Square, so they name their company Fountain Square Properties. They proceed in developing condos and hotels throughout the country.
Ramping upHarley Cook joins Dan and Dave as a partner in Fountain Square Development and The Kensington White Plains. Dan and Dave purchase Kensington Park Assisted Living.
Digging in, literallyDan, Dave and Harley buy land for the future Kensington White Plains community. Fountain Square Properties receives approval to build The Kensington White Plains. Steve Lampa joins forces with Dan, Dave and Harley to assist with Kensington Park and other development initiatives. The construction of The Kensington White Plains begins.
Coming to lifeTiffany Tomasso and Steve Lampa formally partner with Dan and Dave to form Kensington Senior Living. Brenda Moynihan becomes the first employee of The Kensington White Plains as the Director of Marketing & Outreach.
Hello, The Kensington White Plains, and Welcome Residents!The Kensington White Plains Information Center opens on Mamaroneck Avenue. Fountain Square Management Services begins doing business as Kensington Senior Living. Celina Watson joins The Kensington White Plains as Executive Director on January 3. The Kensington White Plains hosts its first Information Center Open House on January 14. The Kensington White Plains hosts events every week at the Information Center and occasionally at other venues. The Models Open House is the first on-site event at 100 Maple Avenue in White Plains. Francine G. is the first resident to move in on September 1. Guests celebrate with residents and staff at the Grand Opening weekend on September 8, 9 & 10. Thirty residents move in within the first 30 days. The Kensington White Plains becomes the flagship community of Kensington Senior Living and lays the groundwork for future communities.
Hello, CaliforniaThe Kensington Sierra Madre opens in February, and Kensington Place in Redwood City opens in October.
Hello, Falls ChurchThe Kensington Falls Church opens in February.
Our family expandsTanya Walker becomes a Kensington Senior Living partner.
Hello, Redondo BeachThe Kensington Redondo Beach opens in July.
Hello, RestonThe Kensington Reston opens in February.
Hello, BethesdaThe Kensington Bethesda opens in July, becoming Kensington Senior Living’s eighth community and its fourth in the Greater Washington area.

In 2011, Kensington Senior Living opened the doors at 100 Maple Avenue with a Promise: to love and care for each resident’s family as its own. Fifteen years later, that Promise still guides every aspect of life at The Kensington White Plains.
Comprehensive Care That Evolves
The Kensington White Plains provides enhanced assisted living and memory care for older adults throughout White Plains, Westchester County and the surrounding area.
Because the community holds an Enhanced Assisted Living Residence license, residents can receive additional support as their needs change. In addition, nurses are available 24 hours a day. The team also has the experience and clinical resources needed to support residents with advanced care needs.
The continuum of care includes enhanced assisted living, onsite rehabilitation and two specialized memory care neighborhoods, Connections and Haven. Residents can also benefit from Parkinson’s support and The Kensington Club.
Experienced and Dedicated Team Members
The Kensington difference is also found in its people. Experienced leaders and long-tenured team members help preserve the relationships and values that have shaped the community since its earliest days.
Together, the team brings knowledge and compassion to nursing, memory care, dining, life enrichment, family support and community outreach.
Specialized Programs and Support
The Kensington White Plains continues to strengthen its programs while staying grounded in the values established in 2011.
For example, the THRIVE Parkinson’s Program combines specialized therapies, wellness activities and caregiver support. As a result, individuals living with Parkinson’s can receive coordinated support designed around their abilities and goals.
The Kensington Club offers another layer of support. It provides structure, social connection and purposeful activities for assisted living residents experiencing mild changes in memory or processing.
Strong Community Partnerships
Relationships with local health care professionals, caregiver organizations and community partners remain central to The Kensington’s mission.
Through collaborations with White Plains Hospital, CaringKind and CounterPoint Health Services, the community provides education and support for residents, families and caregivers. These relationships also help The Kensington remain connected to the wider White Plains community.
